Trauma With Your Mama is an 8-week course to guide you to better understand yourself, how the Trauma With Your Mama shaped you, and to share tools and knowledge that will help you align back to your truest highest self. I share tools to help you tap deep within yourself to release, transmute, and elevate the heavy feelings and emotions that were buried in your body from the trauma with your mama.
To be clear, Trauma With Your Mama IS SHADOW WORK. Trauma and grievances regarding the mother are not expressed because it is not a well talked about subject and/or there are not that many open and safe spaces to talk about the matter at hand. Because of the lack of this conversation, the traumas and feelings get ignored, creating problems later on in life (including self-esteem issues, difficulties in relationships, pent up anger, being abused or abusing others, depression, and anxiety). Holding on to trauma can and will negatively affect your relationship with yourself and others. Keeping trauma in the body can cause physical manifestations of dis-ease. Storing trauma in the body causes mental and emotional strain and weakness.
My goal is to help mother the collective, by opening up this dialogue and giving you all tools/skills/knowledge to become aware of the root of the repressed emotions in order to help them heal themselves.
Trauma With Your Mama is a seven-part course that helps you dig deep and break the cycles in the relationship that you have with your mother. Every week we will go deeper and deeper, uncovering what you may have buried in order to have fertile grounds to free up our emotions & GROW from the fruits of our labor.
The goal is to transmute anxiousness, hopelessness, and doubt into self-awareness, self-confidence, compassion, and love. We utilize the tools of science, spirituality, breathwork, the chakra system, the eight limbs of yoga, meditation, journaling, and somatic work to co-create a container for healing.
Although Trauma With Your Mama was created and designed for Black women+ and femmes, anyone who has mama trauma, is ready to do the work, and is ready to free themselves can and will benefit from this course.

This course was worth every cringe. I love how it incorporated all kinds of activities like meditations, visualizations, journaling activities, homework, and bomb ass playlists! I think I learned most about how complex my mom is and a lot of science/ psych about relationships in general with others and self. Jaz is a great wellness facilitator. I was already familiar with most of the topics we covered, such as inner child, reparenting, feminine archetypes etc., however, it was the guided visualization exercises and meditations that helped me truly understand how all these concepts related to my current reality and how to move through my relationship with my mother from internal safety and a more empowered emotional state. -L.M. We are now in October and I had a situation in which I had to recall what I learned in trauma with your mama. Ironically, it was a time in which I was on vacation and my mother had exhibited behaviors from 2012 that triggered me today in 2020. During that moment, I recalled what I learned in trauma with your mama and applied it to my day and continued to enjoy my vacation. I realized that no matter how much I try, I am simply not able to change her behavior however I can change mine. I will carry what I learned with me forever especially because my mother isn't going anywhere and neither am I as a mother. If anyone has "trauma with your mama" I recommend this course as a guide on how to handle obstacles with your mother. I signed up for Jaz' TWYM course after the loss of my mother left me completely distraught with grief and depression. I didn't have access to grief counseling, my family isn't open to talk about her and risk opening the wound over and over again, so coming across this course on Instagram was god sent! I came into this space with a lot of darkness, confusion, guilt, shame, grief... a mess and I must admit this was not exactly what I expected. I definitely exceeded my expectations. Jaz is such a gentle, patient, knowledgeable and diligent teacher. She guided me to face some tough ass questions and take accountability, her course enabled me to empower myself and redefine the story that I had accepted as a fatality. This course opened me to such a wealth of information that could have easily become overwhelming and confusing, and with her pedagogy, Jaz broke it down and distilled it all in a way that was easy and accessible. My favourite (and most challenging) parts were the shadow and inner child work as well as Jaz' beautiful poetry and meditation/vizualisation exercises.
